Majoring in Finance
Siena College, Class of 2024
From Loudonville, NY
My name is Mikayla Brunell, and I am from Loudonville, New York. As a junior Honors student at Siena College, I am majoring in Finance. I am interested in this area because of my work as President of my high schools Business Club and my coursework within Siena College's School of Business. My background involves serving as an active member of several branches of Student Government and remaining heavily engaged in my campus community which has given me great experience in working with teams and leadership. My drive and responsible nature have instilled in me a strong sense of commitment, leading me to produce work that is done with the utmost care and precision. I am a person who is very detail-oriented and driven to work with people to help them achieve their goals. During the upcoming summer, I will be working as a Summer Analyst at Rockefeller Capital Management's Global Family Office in Saratoga Springs. I am looking forward to learning more about the financial industry and working alongside the team at Rockefeller.

Shaker High School College Planning Series
As a rising senior during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, I knew firsthand how difficult it was to navigate the college search and application process virtually. As I began my college journey, I couldn't help but notice Siena's quick response to providing virtual opportunities for prospective students to engage with the institution. This led me to contact Siena's Admissions team and a wonderful collaboration developed. My high school's Business Club (which I was President of at the time) worked closely with Siena College to create virtual events for all high school students, regardless of grade or future college plans. These events were primarily led by myself and members of Siena's Undergraduate Admission office, discussing topics such as financial aid, how to make your college application stand out, and ways for underclassmen to get a jumpstart on the college process. Overall, these events were very well attended and we received a lot of positive feedback from students and families.
