Dr. Mike Beverly joined the Valdosta State University faculty in Fall 1983. He holds a Master of Business Administration in finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting, both from Valdosta State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Georgia since 1982. He holds membership in the Valdosta State University Center for South Georgia Regional Impact, Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is the director of the Southeast Case Research Association and treasurer of the Valdosta State University Alumni Association, and he sits on the advisory board for First Commerce Credit Union. Prior to entering the field of higher education, he worked for the City of Adel, South Georgia Regional Development Commission, Eye Associates of South Georgia, Optical Associates of South Georgia, Eye Associates Surgery Center, Patria Bag and Hood Packaging, and Langdale Industries.
