Miranda Castro

Hi! My name is Miranda. I am the proud wife of a disabled Army vet named Ben and a mom to my son Liam and my daughter Aiyanna. I am the Director of Asset Management for the Housing Authority of the City of San Antonio. I have worked in affordable housing for the duration of my career; I am proud to be part of the solution to the housing affordability crisis. I grew up in public housing, a product of a single mother with substance abuse and mental health issues. I like to think that I am a success story of what stable housing can deliver; I was able to be the first in my family for a lot of things- first to go to college, first to own a home, first to see my children thrive instead of just exist. I am hoping to obtain my Master of Public Administration to help further my career as well as meet a personal goal for myself. I have always wanted to pursue my masters, but the business of life has always gotten in the way. 2023 was my year to no longer talk about the things I wanted to do. but to actually just do them. So here I am and I am very excited to be here.
