My name is Tomyra Flood. Im in a Master level Global of Public Health program at SNHU. My future is to attend Walden University to become Doctor in Public Health and work for the Center for Disease and Control. I have a bachelors in psychology, associates in human service and a certification in chemical Dependency.
Over the past 12 years I have been working in the field of Addiction as a Substance Abuse Counselor. I currently have taken a break from the field and now working as a Operational Manager at FedEx. Previously I worked with Department of Social Service in a division program in New York as an Addiction outreach Counselor were, I integrated families back together. I have a history of working in three Methadone programs and one Prison program. In 2012 I had the opportunity to play a dual role as a crisis center Counselor /Vocational Counselor. During this time, I made assessments and refer individuals to the appropriate level of care along with assisting individual that had transition for a half-house find employment or attend school. My first job in the field was an overnight counselor at an all women treatment center and then I was promoted to work in the transitional alternative incarceration house with male that were coming home from prison. My job was to assist them with transition back home. Overall the years Im been able to be a part of a Global issue in assists individuals combat drug addiction.
