How Art is Political
This research essay explores how art can serve as a powerful form of political resistance, cultural identity, and social commentary. Focusing on the works of Palestinian artists Naji Al Ali and Laila Shawa, it examines how their art documents the experiences of displacement, occupation, resilience, and the oppression of women. Through an analysis of their lives and artistic contributions, this essay demonstrates how art can preserve history, challenge injustice, and give a voice to those whose stories are too often silenced.
