I am a 29 year old mother of 1 from Rolling Fork, MS. However, I have been living in Batesville, MS long enough (9 years) long enough to consider it home now. Early 2015, I lost my job of 6 years, so I decided to embark on a journey that I thought I'd never get the opportunity to pursue----becoming a nurse! I applied to NWCC, and was accepted! I heard so many horror stories about the level of difficulty getting accepted, so I knew it was God! The journey so far has been a rewarding experience and I don't take any of it for granted. Honestly, I figured it would be a hit and miss, but I vowed to give nursing school my all after I was accepted. That mindset, alone, has allowed me to be a full time wife, mom, and student; and being named 2015-2016 Outstanding Student in my program has given me the extra push I needed! It has reminded me of the credit due that I failed to give myself. I have three wonderful instructors to thank, as they go above and beyond to make sure that I excel beyond the classroom! Thank you for believing in me, even when I didn't believe in myself!
