Born in Texas and raised in Puerto Rico, I am one of a family of 13 siblings born to Richard and Lillian Barnes my beloved parents who reared me in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Since my earliest memory, my father was a master storyteller and narrator. The tales of his memories and life stories, and his colorful readings of the great classics, captivated my imagination and inspired me to be myself a storyteller through the medium of film. Why film? Because my father also had an excellent taste for what makes a great film. To this day he still finds such great films, and it is a true joy to watch them with him. From my mother I learned honor, respect, love, patience, longsuffering, joy, peace, and so much more that words cannot satisfy. She has a gift in teaching and explaining things in a masterful way that clarifies even the most difficult lessons to learn in this life.
