Health and Social Justice is a service learning class in which I corroborated with the Healthy Neighborhoods Committee under the jurisdiction of the Healthy Cleveland Initiative, which is subset of the Cleveland Department of Public Health. -I provided service to this committee by becoming an expert on the infant mortality epidemic, particularly predominant in the city of Cleveland. -The goal was to write a grant for the development of an infant mortality educational video. -Gained proficiency in grant writing skills and applied it to the infant mortality epidemic the committee has chosen to specifically target. -Gained proficiency in reviewing grants of my peers and appropriately allocating funds to the appropriate grant(s).
