-The first project being the coordination of a new layout and paint schedule of the Komatsu mining assembly line. The project included talking with the workers and painters to create definite areas for the purpose of spacing of assemblies, staging of parts, and structure of equipment.
-The second project involved the removal of work from a main assembly line into the sub-assembly line to remove bottlenecks as well as bring work back into Komatsu that was previously outsourced. Involved the coordination of workers, time studies, logistical analysis, and fixture design.
-Several other small projects include the purchasing and design of new satellite tanks, updating Komatsu layouts, and assisting in everyday jobs.
-Working with a team to complete a research paper on the structural properties and analysis of sulfur concrete. The scope of the project is to provide elemental analysis for structural materials to hopefully be used on Mars.
-Funded by NASA, our group creates samples, tests samples using a UTM, and then models the performance of the materials.
-Specific job is to learn and utilize the UTM to examine and produce test data to then be analyzed.
