Winter Immersion Program
During my 2019 winter break, I traveled with 10 Saint Joseph's students to Monte Sinai, Ecuador for a week long immersion trip. While in Ecuador, there was an emphasis on being and not doing. So instead of building a house or cleaning a warehouse, we spent our time conversing with individuals from the small neighborhood of Monte Sinai. This experience taught me to live in the moment and live simply. We had weekly meetings leading up to and also after the trip to discuss what we might experience and then after the trip to discuss how to adjust back to our lives while still remembering everyone we met and keeping the conversation about the injustices we witnessed.

Phi Sigma Sigma
I am a member of Phi Sigma Sigma Iota Rho Chapter at Saint Joseph's University since January 2018. In this organization, we network through the sisterhood as well as bring awareness and donate to two organizations. Our national philanthropy is the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation which is "committed to supporting school and college readiness initiatives" and "to provide school supplies and materials for those students facing extreme poverty" (Phi Sigma Sigma website). Our local philanthropy revolves around cystic fibrosis, where we as members fundraise and donate to the CF Foundation in the hopes of raising awareness. I am currently the Bursar for my chapter. Though this position I manage the sorority's money and budget ensuring all members pay their dues, and that no committees spend over their designated budget. This entails organizational and communication skills.

Appalachian Experience
During my 2018 spring break, I decided to go on the Appalachian Experience (APEX) where I was placed in a group of 27 Saint Joseph's students and together we traveled to Honaker, Virginia where we served with and for others. This program allowed me to learn about their small community as I was able to interact and speak directly with the local people of the town. This service trip allowed me to open up to my service group and the community and grasp a sense of what it means to fully immerse yourself in service. I also participated in this program during my 2019 spring break where I traveled to Greenbrier County, West Virginia and our group of 23 students worked with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a young couple.

Weekly Service
By being a leader in this program and more specifically at the Welcome Center, I ensure program runs smoothly, volunteer weekly, and facilitate reflections. I also identify new leaders by their commitment, ideas, motivation. Besides being a leader in this program, I also serve weekly at the Welcome Center. There, I teach English classes to immigrant adults to expand their skills and confidence, and I also teach a citizenship class to enable the adults to learn the necessary material to be able to obtain their citizenship.

Honors Program
I am currently in the Saint Joseph's University Honors Program, which requires me to take at least one Honors course per semester prompting me to think outside the box, learn beyond the classroom, and apply the thinking skills I learn outside the classroom and in everyday life.

Clinical Research Data Management at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System

During my 2018 summer, I worked alongside Dr. Marina Cuchel in the office of Translational Medicine and Human Genetics at the University of Pennsylvania for her clinical research regarding Familial Hypercholesterolemia. I obtained research subject's data and entered the information into a national registry. I also assisted her in organizing extensive excel spreadsheets she needed for her research paper. Although I am an actuarial science major with little biology or medicine knowledge, I worked hard and research the disease in order to efficiently complete the assignments I was given. Throughout my three months, her office welcomed two new employees and I was tasked with their transition and explanation of Familial Hypercholesterolemia and how it related to Dr. Cuchel's work.

Sales Attendant at LaSalle College High School

I efficiently and accurately handled sales, returns, and exchange transactions. I also used communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to meet needs. I handled the inventory and store items organization throughout the store and in our storage closets. I worked here my junior and senior year of high school, and then came back to work during my college breaks.
