The Shenandoah Internship Symposium

I attended theTalent Opportunity Partnership's Shenandoah Valley internship symposium for employers, and I participated as one of the student interns working at the non-profit organization, Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance on a student intern panel and answered questions from employers about internship benefits, opportunities, and my own experiences.

Sustainable Fashion Design and Production at Eastern Mennonite University

Presented, alongside Senior undergraduate, Meredith Lehman what we learned from our Sustainable Fashion Design course at EMU, what we were able to accomplish from the UN's Alliance for Sustainable Fashion objectives, and did a deep dive into the facts and the effects of fast fashion on all aspects of life.

Haute Couture: What We Can Learn From The Fashion House Pioneers

I created this presentation for a fashion design Honors Colloquium course than I co-taught alongside EMU Art professor, Cyndi Gusler and Senior Undergraduate, Meredith Lehman, and I shared with the class information about the history of Haute Couture houses and how they led to the impact fashion has had over the decades to this day.

Sustainable Fashion Show

I co-directed a Fashion Design Honors Colloquium course which led to the production of our sustainable fashion show "Slow Fashion Hits The Runway: A Sustainability-Centered Fashion Show," centered around recently approved UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion objectives by committing our entire class to produce outfits based on little to no waste, thrifting fabrics or up-cycling existing clothing in our closet, as well as collecting left-over scraps and keeping them stored for future shows or courses at EMU. We truly wanted to combine the creativity and community-building aspects of fashion and meticulous sustainability goals, such as reducing water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions that are produced by fast fashion yearly.
