I am passionate about the biotechnology and pharmaceutical engineering industry to address global health challenges. With health issues prevalent in my family, I aim to use my leadership, problem solving, communication, and lab skills to progress the chemical engineering field.
Currently, I am working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Styczynski Research Group, where I use metabolomics analysis techniques such as PCR, Homologous DNA Recombination, Gibson Assembly, and Cell Culture to study the Crabtree effect in yeast and explore how individual genes affect yeast fermentation and respiration. Overall, I aim to use these lab skills for use in the biofuel and disease research industry to start my own pharmaceutical engineering industry and help inform/represent ethnic minorities.
