Pam Jones

Majoring in Behavioral Health
Alvernia University, Class of 2019
From Narvon, Pa.
I'm a mother to a wonderful son, Brandon. As he grew up I've became a mother of many of his friends. I wanted them to have someone to come to if they couldn't talk to their own parents. I grew up, being very close to my father, who instilled in me many values that I still carry with me today. He taught me how to love life. Even as he was dying he showed me what it truly was to enjoy even the tiny things in life and that each moment mattered. He showed me not to lose that inner child that we all have. I passed these valves onto my son. Never lose that inner child. Dance in the rain. Laugh often, enjoy and live life.

Drexal University College of Medicine Continuing Education Certificate for Motivational Interviewing: Embracing the Spirit
Motivational Interviewing is a clinical approach that helps people with mental health and substance use disorders and other chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and asthma make positive behavioral changes to support better health. The approach upholds four principles— expressing empathy and avoiding arguing, developing discrepancy, rolling with resistance, and supporting self-efficacy (client’s belief s/he can successfully make a change).

Magic the Gathering
Magic is a tradable card game. You build your collection of cards by trading with friends, making decks of cards. You battle against an opponent and their deck. During play you cast powerful spells and summon monstrous creatures. I enjoy the people I meet, I play at my friend's shop, House of Cards, in Lebanon, Pa. I get to enjoy a nice time and relax, taking me away from homework for bit.
