I am a Professor of Animal Science and Livestock Extension Specialist assigned to the University of Arkansas Southwest Research & Extension Center near Hope, AR. My research and Extension efforts focuses on the study of systems for sustainable, economical, and environmentally sound production of quality beef and present the results to Arkansas producers through producer meetings and on-farm demonstrations. This includes forage based systems for cow-calf and stocker cattle operations in Arkansas and the Southeastern United States, backgrounding diets for growing cattle, and the effects of pre-feeding management on carcass quality at harvest.
