Perry Harrah

In December of 2012 I graduated from Central College located in Pella, Iowa with double majors in French and Linguistics.  During my college experience, I spent a year abroad in Paris studying French and teaching English to French adolescents, as well as, adults. This experience gave me more insight into what I wanted to do with my life. After learning French as a second language, I felt confident that I could use my language learning experiences to help others learn as well. Shortly after graduating college, I began to work for a local community elementary school where I worked as a Para-educator. I helped teach Special Education and ESL students in a pullout program. The elementary school was readily accommodating to my interests and allowed me to gain beneficial teaching experiences with English learners. I am now in my second semester of the MATESOL program here at UF. I am very passionate about helping others and this is why I am currently working as a tutor in the English Language Learner Center on Findlay's campus. In my spare time I also tutor English in the community for students who do not attend UF.
