Quinn Ceilly

Majored in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Minored in Applied Statistics
SUNY Oswego, Class of 2022
From Cleveland, NY
I am currently in Syracuse University's Master of Social Work (clinical track) program and exploring Ph.D. programs, and I envision a future career path in clinical research focused on risk and resilience pertaining to child and adolescent exposure to adversity. I have interdisciplinary interests in psychology, social work, philosophy, statistics, computer science (e.g., cognitive modeling, neural networking), and neuroscience. I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and cognitive science and a minor in applied statistics in May of 2022. I have experience implementing behavioral health treatments; collecting and examining behavioral data trends and modifying treatment efforts accordingly; and facilitating neuropsychological testing with children, adolescents, and adults at ADHD & Autism Psychological Services and Advocacy (AAPSA). I currently work as a Research Assistant in integrated healthcare at the Syracuse Veteran's Health Administration, where I conduct suicide risk assessments and engage in safety planning, connect Veterans with behavioral health resources according to their clinical presentation, implement phone and video assessments, and engage in scientific writing in collaboration with research team members. Previous undergraduate research experiences explored topics within developmental studies; cognitive neuroscience; and neurology and genetics. In my future career, I will strive to provide data-driven treatments and therapies to child and adolescent patients, and utilize the knowledge of my studies and training to further expand their opportunities and life fulfillment. I highly value kindness, courtesy, and learning and developing from a variety of experiences, in addition to the diversity and complexity of individual worldviews, experiences, and cultures. Approaching those with cultural, economic, and social differences in a compassionate, accepting manner allows for a shared opportunity to learn, grow, and reflect.
