Rachel Piselli
My parents have given me the opportunities that they have not been given themselves. I take the opportunity to go to college with great pride. It has opened so many doors for me and allowed me to see where my hard work can take me. College itself is a great motivational tool for myself by allowing me to show others my abilities that I have tailored during the past couple of years. My actions to make solutions show the type of values I hold as an individual: individual responsibility, humble roots, hard work, and an infallible driven mindset. It is with these values that I feel will help me to be as successful as possible in college and throughout my career.
College isn't only a chance to make my family and myself proud, but it has helped me to find what I truly have planned with myself and my abilities in the future. The ultimate goal for myself is to serve other people. By applying what I have learned as a biology student at the University of Pittsburgh, I will strive to positively influence others to better themselves and help improve the health field.

Swimming (Women's)
This year I challenged myself by joining the NCAA swim team at my university having never competitively swum. I went from being unable to swim one full length of the pool to practicing along side my teammates, whom have been swimming for more than a decade. With dedication and perseverance, I was able to not only continuously improve my personal swim goals. I use these tasks that should intimidate me as inspiration and fuel to push me to become a better athlete, scholar, and person.

Cross Country (Women's)
This was a wonderful outlet for me release stress as well as keep myself constantly active on campus. I enjoy being a strong active participant within my community and this was just one way I was able to do so.

Alpha Phi Omega
This is one of my favorite organizations I am a part of on my campus. This group has such a strong foundation and always strives to positively impact every person they are exposed to. I've learned that being a part of this group I have grown as a friend, a leader, and a serving member in my community. I have grown significantly since joining this group.
