From Jamaica Plain, MA
Licensed and certified professional in the state of Massachusetts with a diverse background in HIV/AIDS, substance abuse/chemical dependency, Gerontology, and traumatic experiences, which includes motor vehicle accidents, workers compensation, and police brutality. During my professional career I have developed an interest in educating families and individuals on the impact of HIV/AIDS with the goal of increasing knowledge and awareness. In addition, working with survivors of traumatic experiences has broadened my understanding of trauma, clinical diagnosis and assessment, and ability to work diligently while maintaining a safe therapeutic environment. Equally important, I have had the opportunity to work with school aged-children, teenagers and young adults. During this professional part of my career I was able to gain in-depth knowledge and training in the following areas: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Coping skills and Problem Solving, Family Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Milieu, and Relaxation Techniques models of treatment. Most recently, I was granted what I have worked the most in my whole entire life, and that is my MBA. My next goal is to pursue all three levels of the C.F.A. certification. Specialties: Substance Abuse, Medical Social Work, Pain Management, Mental Health, Financial Management.
