Rahul Ghosh

I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. I am enrolled in the Master of Science with a specialization in Operations Research at Georgia Tech. I will graduate in December 2017. While earning a Master of Science in Operations Research and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, I have gained valuable experience using programming languages such as Python, R, Java, and SQL to solve problems with extremely large data sets. Examples include: building a vaccine distribution network in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and analyzing the largest factors in US traffic fatalities in 2015. Through completing such projects, I have developed my skills for working with large sets of real world data. When it comes to experience, I have worked at a Supply Chain Logistics company called Manhattan Associates Inc., where I used my knowledge of SQL to query information from a large and complex database. I spent three months becoming proficient with Tableau Software so Manhattan could integrate it into their products and improve their BI capabilities. After that, I spent another three months utilizing Java and Excel to develop a prototype that implements a new database design for a warehouse that allows Manhattan Associates to run optimization algorithms in their warehouses and to reduce total distance travelled by their labor force. Through my education and experience I believe I have developed the skills to be a valuable addition to any team.
