Chaplain (LTC) Randal Homer Robison was born in Dallas, Texas on July 16th, 1966 and was raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. After graduating from Grand Prairie High School in 1984, he attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities in May 1988. After graduation, he worked on staff with a homeless shelter, GODTEL (God's Open Door To Eternal Life), in Nacogdoches, Texas. For six months he served the homeless population in the surrounding East Texas area. In March 1989, he entered Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Following graduation, he attended the 71M, Chaplain Assistant, training at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. In August 1989, PFC Robison was assigned to the Main Post Chapel at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. In May 1990, SPC Robison was released from his Active Duty, so he could enter the Chaplain Candidate (Staff Specialist) program. In August 1990, 2LT Randal H. Robison was commissioned by Chaplain (COL) Jerry Poteet, Pastor of the First Baptist Church Grand Prairie, Texas. 2LT Robison attended and completed phases I and II of the Chaplain Officer's Basic Course (CHOBC) from January through March 1991 at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey during Desert Shield /Desert Storm. Over the next few years, 1LT Robison completed Chaplain Candidate training at the Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas (1994) and the Introduction to Hospital Ministry training at the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas (1994,'95,'96). During the years of 1991 through 1994, he also sold residential real estate in Grand Prairie and Arlington, Texas. In December 1996, 1LT Robison completed the Master of Divinity degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He was also ordained in December 1996 at First Baptist Church, Grand Prairie, Texas. In June 1997, Chaplain (CPT) Robison was assigned to 4ID, Fort Hood, Texas where he served as a Battalion and Squadron Chaplain in three separate units over three years the 204th Forward Support Battalion, 124th Signal Battalion, and 1/10 CAV Squadron. He deployed to Kuwait with the Task Force 1/10 CAV for the Intrinsic Action 99-03 rotation in August 1999. Chaplain (CPT) Robison was selected to attend the U.S. Army's Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program at Fort Lewis, Washington in June 2000 and completed his training in June 2001. He was then assigned to the DeWitt Army Community Hospital, Fort Belvoir, Virginia from June 2001 thru December 2003. On occasion, Chaplain Robison had the honor of providing Memorial Ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery. He also was privileged to teach 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School at the Fort Belvoir Religious Education Center. These were two of several wonderful ministry opportunities he treasured while serving at Fort Belvoir. In December 2003, he completed the Master of Science in Education degree through Old Dominion University. From January 2004 thru June 2004, he attended the Chaplain Career Course and CAS3 course at Fort Jackson, SC and Fort Leavenworth, KS. Upon graduating from the Chaplain Career Course in June 2004, he was assigned to the 1-506 IN (AASLT), 2ID in Korea. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 2.5 with his unit and was based at Camp Habbaniyah, Iraq. Upon his redeployment from Iraq, he was assigned as the Group Chaplain for the 52d Ordnance Group (EOD) at Fort Gillem, GA. He served as Chapel Pastor of the Fort Gillem Chapel from September 2005 to February 2006. He was promoted to the rank of Major on 3 September 2005 at the Fort Gillem Chapel. Chaplain Robison attended WHINSEC (old School of the Americas) at Fort Benning, GA for his Intermediate Level Education (ILE) residency in June 2008 and graduated in May 2009. He served as the 4th Brigade Combat Team Chaplain in the 101st Airborne Division (ASSLT), Fort Campbell, KY. His Brigade deployed to Afghanistan in August 2010 for a 12-month deployment. Upon Redeployment in August 2011, Chaplain Robison received orders to report to Fort Gordon, GA in April 2012 to serve as the Chaplain Resource Manager. He held that position for 16 months. Chaplain Robison was appointed as the Deputy Installation Chaplain for eight months while also serving as the senior pastor of the 0900 Bicentennial Chapel Liturgical service. He transitioned to become the Chief, Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon in December 2013 where he served until 11 February 2016. Chaplain Robison is married to Claudia Marcella Velasco Robison, and they have four wonderful children: Colby, Nolen, Landen and Shalina Monique Robison. They are the pride of his life.
Chaplain Robison has been awarded two Bronze Star Medals (BSM), four Meritorious Service Medals (MSM), four Army Commendation Medals (ARCOMs), two Army Achievement Medals (AAMs), two National Defense Service Medals (NDSM), one Iraqi Campaign Medal (ICM), one Afghan Campaign Medal (ACM), one Korean Defense Service Medal (KDSM), one Navy Unit Citation (NUC), one Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (AFEM), one NATO citation, and one Army Service Medal (ASM), and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (GWOTE). He was awarded the Combat Action Badge (CAB) during his deployment to Iraq in 2005. Chaplain (LTC) Randal Robison believes strongly in the Sovereignty of God and in the grace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
