Raquel Carbone
My Name is Raquel Kelly Carbone, but I go by Kelly. I grew up in Bridgeport, Nebraska; located in the panhandle of Nebraska. My parents were migrant farmworkers and growing up I spent eight months of the year traveling and working in various agricultural fields across the United States, including sugar beet and pinto bean cleaning and harvesting in Nebraska. The other four months of the year I spent in Mexico. My parents decided to settle in Nebraska when I started kindergarten, they loved the small community of Bridgeport.
I graduated in 2002 from Chadron State College with a bachelors degree in business administration and started working in the administration of a school. In 2003 I met my now-husband and we married in 2004, shortly after we moved to Colorado. Since then, we have had 3 children, Isabella, Lillany, and Abdiell. I currently live in Littleton, Colorado in the south part of Denver.
I have lived in Colorado since 2004 and a degree in business gave me a variety of options when it came to, what I wanted to do with my life. I remember that I wanted to study business because it sounded important, international business sounded so amazing. In 2004, I started working for a community health center as their business manager. I soon discovered I had a knack for business and did well in healthcare, things just made sense to me things that didnt necessarily make sense to others. I did well in the organization I was at and progressed into the administrative offices in operations.
In 2011, I transitioned from non-profit healthcare to a for-profit healthcare clinic as a practice administrator. The clinic I was working for was sold to a corporation in 2018. In February 2019, I was offered a corporate director position for their pediatric division. In February of 2020, I was offered a promotion into an Executive Director position and now oversee six medical clinic sites that provide care in pediatrics, family practice, and internal medicine. I work directly under the guidance of the companys CEO and a group of four of us run the operations division for all the clinics in the networks.
During early 2018, my husband finished his masters program in counseling, this gave me the opportunity to pursue my masters degree as well. I hope to use the training and knowledge that I receive in the MBA program to progress further in the healthcare administration field or be able to run a successful counseling clinic in conjunction with my husband. I am passionate about population health and quality improvement programs that improve health outcomes. I also have a desire to serve the under-served populations within the United States and combine my love of business with ministry. I love spending time with my family and as a family, we enjoy the outdoors, camping, and boating. During this last year, we purchased a new house, and we are enjoying making it a home.
