Majoring in Bachelors In Psychology And Human Services, Minoring in Trauma Advocacy And Sociology
Buena Vista University
From Centerville, IA
My Associate of Arts degree was obtained at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, Iowa. During my attendance at Indian Hills I was an active member of Student Council and completed my degree with a GPA of 3.05. I made both the President's list with a GPA of 4.0 spring/2016. As well has the Deans list in both fall and winter 2016 with a GPA of 3.50 or above. I am currently seeking a double Bachelors in Psychology and Human Services with Minors including Trauma Advocacy and Sociology. Upon completion of my degree from Buena Vista University it is my goal to attend University of Northern Iowa to obtain a Master of Social Work with Trauma Informed Specialization. After finishing school it is my goal to become a Substance Abuse Counselor that does outreach work with addicts and the homeless population. It is my desire to seek employment in communities with the highest levels of need. Perhaps a program like the one in Washington state that has police officers and social workers do outreach together. In the hope that programs like this can help both addicts and homeless people from becoming involved with the criminal justice system and instead help them find: housing, recovery, and education.
