PROFESSIONALISM in behavior and actions How to maintain your cool when things get "real"? Acting in a professional manner is not just acting, it's essential to maintaining your image as a teacher. I work hard to study and learn as much about a topic I can, that way when I present it to a classroom I know that I am ready for unexpected questions. Developing further is also part of maintaining professionalism. I can not just sit on my laurels as a teacher. Striving to produce better lessons and fuller content should be an all-consuming goal of classroom life. When living in my community I can always be seen maintaining my image as an important member of my community. Never should I be seen drinking or carousing like seen on many unfortunate YouTube video of other teachers. I feel that those teachers are in serious need of Gods word. Almost daily I see teachers in the news. All of their actions started with a loss of professionalism. Maybe if they accepted God into their lives, they would be whole and complete members of their society instead of convicts. An old adage says "monkey see monkey do" meaning if your students see you do it, then its ok. I for one will never let go of my God-given armor. By that, I mean Jesus gives you the clothing of his grace, His love, and His protection. That is all part of your professional image. Both in and outside of the classroom I am a Christian teacher so I must always act accordingly.
