S M Kamrul Hasan

Majored in Imaging Science
Rochester Institute of Technology, Class of 2023
From Bangladesh
I am a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Imaging Science at Rochester Institute of Technology, working with Professor Dr. Cristian Linte. I have been working at the Center for Imaging Science since Fall 2017 as a Ph.D. student. In the Fall of 2017, I started my academic career at Rochester Institute of Technology as an Imaging Science student with an ambition of being an imaging scientist. My passion grew considerably stronger in my first semester, triggered by the exposure to deep learning coding in PyTorch in my deep learning for vision course. Currently, I see myself as a man on a mission, dedicated to analyzing the medical images to enable more accurate disease detection, allow more precisely tailored treatment plans, and ultimately improve patient outcomes, through innovative use of computer vision, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and deep learning. My aim is to establish and broaden these skills by creating new algorithms and developing existing ones, in companies which are nothing short of relentless in their efforts to develop new services and products. I had focused on exploring the use of medical imaging to generate new paradigms for image-guided visualization and navigation for minimally invasive therapy. Prior to working at BMVIGN Lab, I was working as a Researcher on Biomedical Imaging Research at Integrated Neuro-Bio-imaging Laboratory for Spring 2017, where I was looking for finding the thickness of the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex. I received a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh, June 2015 with a First Class Honors and 2nd position of 121 classes. I was a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Daffodil International University, Bangladesh from 2015 - 2017.
