I am a stellar student formally recognized by former SNHU President Dr. Paul J. LeBlanc and SNHU Newsroom for my perseverance and hard work. After graduating at the top of my class with a 3.9 GPA and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice concentrating in Human Services & Advocacy, I remain fully engaged with my community, as a 4-time President's List academic scholar and member of SNHU's Student Engagement Council and the National Society of Leadership and Success. I have learned to lead through teamwork and integrity. As a recent graduate, I aim to be an agent of change by volunteering with Non-profit organizations such as Divas With Disabilities and the NAACP.

Activities

Student Engagement Council

The Student Engagement Council is a group of online undergraduate, graduate, and competency-based students who meet together online with staff and a faculty advisor, and work to inform the administration about the student experience as well as support, engage and interact with fellow students in SNHUconnect. They will inform the SNHU administration about the student's experience, positive and negative, and provide feedback on the topics that affect students. Members of the council will have the opportunity to improve the student experience, listen to student feedback, inform change, raise awareness within the student body, provide support to peers, introduce students to new peers in the community, supports groups and learning communities, and increase student engagement. The council will be a voice, and an informing body, but not a decision-making group, when it comes to university policies. The council will increase the student voice regarding student services, resources, and the academic experience, and discuss concerns or issues which impact the student experience with SNHU administrators. This will also give SNHU administrators a diverse group of students to reach out to for feedback and input.

This journal evaluates modern-day examples of the Social Control Theory by observing the current contradictory policy practices of Marijuana and the persecution of the inmates serving time.

Exploring Black History: Preprofessional Experience for SNHU Students

A writer from the SNHU Newsroom wrote an article about the recent Black History Month pre-professional student experience project I participated in. I was recommended by one of the participating Social Sciences Deans. I provided answers to a few questions to help tell the story from a first-hand experience.

April 2023 - Publications

HerStory Black History Month Presentation

Black History Month pre-professional experience, which ran from Jan. 9 through the end of February. During this time, I worked with peers and the Social Sciences deans to create a presentation on Black History Month with a focus of the group’s choice, delivered through a medium of the group’s choice. I participated in creating this presentation and delivering it to an audience within SNHU. This pre-professional experience can be added to an eportfolio, resume, graduate school application, etc. and it helps to connect with peers and deans within my discipline.

This paper will research the value of considering the needs of Disabled women, and African-American women.

National Honor Society Induction

I was inducted into the National Leadership and Success Honor Society. These were for online-affiliated honor societies at Southern New Hampshire University. Hosted by Assistant Director of Honor Society Operations Stacey Bissonnette who shared the benefits and engagement opportunities for honor society members.
