Sarah Strack

My name is Sarah and I am a second-year student at Miami University studying Education and Communications. I love to get involved and embrace being a leader. My leadership skills were most recently demonstrated through my participation in The National Collegial Leadership Competition - a competition in which you practice leadership like you practice athletics. Although I could expound upon all the different activities and clubs I am involved in, there is one organization, in particular, which defines me like no other. My Uncle Mark was killed by a texting semi-truck driver in January 2015. Because of this, I started a nonprofit organization called, 2Eyes.JustDrive, which educates people about the true dangers of distracted driving and advocates for positive, productive change to make our roads safer. Since starting this 501(c)(3), I have organized many events promoting 2Eyes.JustDrive and its mission. Currently, I am spearheading our fundraising campaign to secure the resources needed to promulgate our message to a wider audience, as well as start a chapter at Miami University. Through 2Eyes.JustDrive, I have also had the opportunity to talk to state officials regarding distracted driving legislation and strive to help spare others from the nightmare my family has experienced. Being an advocate for my uncle is something about which I am extremely passionate. This fuels my drive to continuously expand 2Eyes.JustDrive and grow our global impact. I also want to use my ardent devotion to advocacy and education to help be a catalyst for educational reform. All education does not take place in a classroom, and nonprofits are an integral part of education and reform. I welcome new adventures and undertaking challenges outside of my comfort zone.
