Sergio Valdez Ocobachi

I grew up in a town name Ejido de Teras in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. Since very young, I started to seek how I could grow and improve myself at school. I understood that if I worked with my intelligence, ideas, and persistence I could obtain my goals because they are the best tools I have. When I immigrated to this country, I got married in 2006. Today, we have a 7 year old daughter. It has not been easy to start a family in the midst of an economic recession, in a new country with a new culture and language for me. However, I decided to start a career versus my adverse circumstances such as low income, English as second language, and being in my late thirties. I am first generation to go the university. My wife and I work as a team in our family process and objectives. My main career and personal goal is to obtain a bachelor degree on psychology and then become a Family Counselor. SDSU and Financial Aid gave me support and in return I am giving my best.
