3. There was a situation where during one of my coworker's duty that needed urgent attention. A resident had been caught withholding illegal substances within her room. As a result, my counterpart called other RAs to help assist with the situation. To make matters easier for my coworker, I took the responsibility on handling writing down the events that were taking place so that it was easier for her to fill-out her Incident Report. As a result, after the situation was taken care of, it was easy for her to write the incident report because I was taking notes on what was occurring during the situation. She was able to obtain important information that was crucial for the report.

1. There was once a time where myself and fellow RAs hosted a program that allowed residents to connect with one another and it also gave them the opportunity to connect with the RAs. In the end, one of my residents approached me about a situation that was bothering her. I took her away from the rest of the group so that we could hold a care conversation. She told me in great detail that she and her roommate were having issues, but that she didn't want to bother me because she didn't believe that it was that important. I was able to learn that she didn't feel a connection with her roommate and she also let me know that she had conflicting thoughts on whether or not she should commute to school. I explained to her that I was available for her anytime that she needed me and that she could talk to me about anything. I was able to give some advice on how she could make a positive experience living with someone that she didn't use to. I also shared my advice with her on whether or not she should be a commuter. I gave her the pros and cons as well as different possibilities that she could go about. As a result, the resident found it more comfortable to talk to me when she had conflicts and was also well aware that I served as a support system for her when she faced difficult times.

2. Although it is our responsibility as an RA is to make sure we are support systems for our residents, we also want to ensure their safety. My floor contains three RAs all together. However, during the time of our health and safety inspections, we were down one of our co-workers making it more difficult to get the task done in a timely manner. To make sure we got to each room in a timely manner is that it was only the two of us, I made the decision that we should split up the tasks so that we were able to absorb each room accordingly. This also made it easier for us, leaving us with the responsibility of our own. This would also decrease the risk of missing something that was out of place. As a result, we were able to evaluate each room in a timely matter.
