Activities & Affiliations
Cedar Crest College has welcomed dozens of new members into the Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society. An induction ceremony was held on Thursday, April 11 in the Tompkins College Center on campus. Alpha Sigma Lambda is a national honor society for adult students. The goal of the organization is to recognize the achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work. To be eligible, students must meet certain academic requirements. This semester, 24 Cedar Crest College students were eligible for induction into Delta Pi, the local chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda. Twelve attended the ceremony. Alpha Sigma Lambda is the only chapter-based honor society for non-traditional students. The group aims to motivate students to achieve academic and leadership excellence while creating a network of outstanding students and faculty.Spring 2019
On March 25, 2019, 16 social work students attended the annual NASW Advocacy Day. This annual event is attended by all the social work schools in PA. The advocacy project for 2019 was to advocate for HB 390 which focuses on the importance of certification for school social workers. The Cedar Crest social work majors attended with social work students attending NCC and with the MSW students from Marywood.Spring 2019
