Stephen Malec

I am currently an Analyst 1 in Procurement with the Reporting & Analytics team at Windstream and a 2nd year member of Windstream's Finance Leadership Program (WFLP). I am currently the Director of the WFLP College Recruiting team. I enjoy the challenges of learning and developing new skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment. I have been working at Windstream since I started as a WFLP intern in Spring '21, where my project team and I won the Summer Intern Automation Project Competition with the submission of two automation proposals approved by the executive leadership team. I continued working on a part-time basis in Procurement until starting full-time in April '22. In May '22, I graduated with a BBA-Finance degree from the University of Arkansas Little Rock with concentrations in Real Estate and Financial Services/Risk Management. I was selected as the Outstanding Graduate Student for the Real Estate program for '21-'22. In my current role at Windstream I have gained valuable experience in monitoring and maintaining strategic inventory levels on both the Enterprise and Kinetic fronts. This includes the management of various order processes, assistance with compliance reporting, coordination of site-to-site equipment transfers, and regular correspondence with members of Service Delivery, Field Operations, equipment vendors, and sales leaders. Two major initiatives I have been instrumentally involved with include the CPE-Logistics transitions of operations and the establishment of the new ONT Min/Max process. As a member of the ONT Conversion Project Team, I won the Q4 '22 R.A.C.E. (Recognizing Achievement, Contribution, and Excellence) Crest of Excellence Award from Windstream. I have built several Excel templates to streamline processes while promoting greater order accuracy. Additionally, since completing a specialized Tableau course this past Summer, I have been working to improve organizational visibility with the publication of new Tableau dashboards. In addition to my current work at Windstream, I am actively working to further develop my leadership skills in pursuit of my MBA w/ a concentration in Business Analytics at the University of Arkansas Little Rock, w/ expected graduation date of May '24.
