Tara Peifer
My name is Tara Peifer. I transferred to APSU, in the fall of 2013, from Blue Ridge Community College in North Carolina with a AAS in Interpreting Education (ASL). While in the ASL program, I began to work with Deaf and Deaf/Blind people and found my calling. This is why I entered the Social Work program. There are not enough advocates for this population of amazing beings. In order to make change you must give from the heart. I have been an avid volunteer within the communities I have lived for over eight years. Volunteering is a passion of mine. I am currently an FRG Leader on Fort Campbell and work as often as I can with people who have disabilities. I am, also, a former state contractor, elementary teaching assistance and preschool teacher who has enjoyed working with the special needs population for several years. Life is about give and take. You should always give more than what you take. It leads to a rich life of contentment.
