I currently work at the Shumway Dining Commons, averaging approximately 10 hours a week.
August 2015 - Present
Food Preparation Associate at Stop & Shop
I briefly worked at Stop and Shop before I had the opportunity to attend and study at RIT early, during the summer, on scholarship.
June 2015 - July 2015
Line Server, Cook, Cashier at Worcester Dining Commons
At the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I had the pleasure of working at Worcester Dining Commons. The responsibilities ranged from overseeing a certain area of the DC, to serving students, to being a cashier.
January 2014 - June 2015
Co-Chair at Youth Action Coalition
After serving on the board as the secretary, I became co-chair. The Co-Chair position had many different responsibilities. These responsibilities included managing marketing, the budget, and the programs. However, I wasn't able to do it single handedly. Youth Action Coalition strived to empower youth to speak out and take action on important issues. They're strategies were to express social change through art form, let youth-voice be heard by serving on the board, and activism through personal expression.
September 2013 - June 2015
Youth Leader, Networker, Accountant at Health Resources In Action
I had the opportunity to work with Health Resources in Action, based in Boston, Massachusetts. We would coordinate events all over Massachusetts to interact and inform youth, youth leaders, and youth trainers of the importance of health; from mental health to physical health. I gained an array of knowledge by being able to work with this organization.
January 2012 - December 2013
Secretary at Youth Action Coalition, Video Vanguards
I served on the board as the secretary for this non-profit organization. Youth Action Coalition strived to empower youth to speak out and take action on important issues. They're strategies were to express social change through art form, let youth-voice be heard by serving on the board, and activism through personal expression.
September 2011 - December 2013
Video Editor at Multi-Arts Programs
Multi-Arts Summer and winter programs were designed to serve young children of the 5-College region of western Massachusetts. Their goal is to, "provide an inroad into the arts for all children, regardless of their financial status and/or ethnic backgrounds, and to present the children’s work to the larger community." I worked with them as a media marketer through film and film editing to advertise and showcase their art during summer and winter breaks.
January 2011 - December 2013
Volunteer at Amherst Survival Center
Volunteering at the Amherst Survival Center was more than just a volunteer opportunity to me. They quickly became a family, and I've gained a lot of professional and personal insight from them. I worked in the food pantry, taking each customers input data and saving it on our database. I also would help customers with finding and choosing their monthly allowance of free food. I credit this volunteer work for my ability to offer great customer service, regardless of the circumstances.
