Shannon Chambliss was recognized for earning a scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship, is a Mississippi College scholarship awarded to several prospective students upon writing an entrance essay and interviewing with a panel of judges. I was awarded this annual scholarship of $3,000 per year and am honored to carry the title, Presidential Scholar.

MC Scouts
Directly involved in student recruitment, MC Scouts are the student liaisons for Mississippi College. The job requires recruiting via writing letters to prospective students, giving tours of campus to prospective students and their families, and carrying out Preview Days that allow 300+ students to see the best of MC at one time.

I planned and carried out orientation for new students each summer. This included five months of preparation and three sets of orientations each summer. Along with working as a part of the team, I led groups of students in learning about MC, answered questions from both students and their parents, and carried out all tasks that needed to be done- expected and unexpected.

The Collegian is MC's newspaper. As the editor of the Opinions section, I write a piece for each issue, create ideas and pitches for articles and gather contributing writers to write for the paper.

Wells & Co., an uprising Public Relations firm located in Jackson, Miss., specializes in social media management, branding, copy writing and editing, fundraising, and event planning. As an intern, I put together social media plans, write press releases, and help carry out events promoted by the firm.

Choctawk Telecounselors recruit prospective students via telephone calls. As a telecounselor, I made 50+ phone calls a day reaching out to prospective students about MC Preview Days, special admissions events, and encouraging them to apply.
