Tyler Hammerle
I am seeking a paid summer internship at a Water/Wastewater Treatment plant over the summer of 2015 from mid May to the end of August.
I am currently a junior at Miami University majoring in Chemical Engineering with an environmental concentration. Just this semester I have taken an advanced class on water and wastewater treatment. In this class I got lab experience with BOD, COD, solids, and sludge settling tests. I also got to design my own wastewater treatment plant! I learned how to design a bar screen, grit chamber, aerated basin, and activated sludge for my plant. I am very interested and excited about water treatment and I believe I can be an asset to a wastewater treatment plant. An internship would provide me with an ideal opportunity to assist your organization and help me grow as a chemical engineer.
I have also been involved with a design group for a storm water management system. Three other people and I designed a system for an auto body shop to collect more than enough water to wash all of the cars they work on. Ive learned a lot about project management and am very excited to say we met with him early in December and got the approval to start implementing the storm water management system we designed!
