Valory Sanders was recognized for studying abroad
On May 28, I left New York to further my culinary education by attending the Marco Polo Study Abroad in Italy Program. The trip consisted of a 15 day stay where I studied authentic Italian cuisine from four regions, while cooking under some of the BEST chefs in Italy. I toured historic landmarks of Rome including the Coliseum, Parma Italy's famous cheese factory of Parmigiano-Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma (ham). I explored and shopped in Venice, Asti, Parma's Cinque Terre beach, and Fico Eataly (the largest food park in the world) to name a few. I was also able to study at Academia Barilla (the famous Italian pasta brand), as well as other culinary schools such as AQ International and Institute of AFT, and dine out every night and enjoy the fresh seasonal dishes of each region! This was an experience of a lifetime that will be forever ingrained in my heart and has changed my life forever.
