My responsibilities for being a part of this volunteer organization were to support the families of terminally ill children. We were asked to clean and serve food. In addition, some of us dressed up as characters for events that were held for the families at Give Kids The World. Myself and one other girl were able to work side-by-side with children as they rode on the back of horses.
My responsibilities for being a student-athlete was to maintain my grades and represent my school with integrity and pride. As a captain and strong leader in the team my job was to support my teammates emotionally and fix any problems to ensure the success of our team. My sophomore year of college, my team won the OAC Championship, which then led us to the National Championship. These accomplishments have help instill confidence in myself to achieve my dreams during my professional career.
I was an active service member with Habitat for Humanity at Baldwin Wallace University for 4 years. During this time I traveled on two service trips to Alabama and Georgia. We helped reconstruct houses and clean the environmental settings. The group cleaned, painted structures, built walls, grouted floors, and other projects. I also participated in an event called Building Walls, which is an event where the community builds the structure of a house on campus.
