Victoria Palacios

I am Georgia Institute of Technology Alumni with a Bachelor in Science in Computational Media from Lawrenceville, Ga. I was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to a Brazilian mother and a Colombian father and I have two younger brothers. My family moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia in 2000 after my father found a job here. In 2001, we moved to the suburbs of Lawrenceville, Georgia and have lived there for over a decade. I graduated with honors from Central Gwinnett High School as the marching bands clarinet section leader, a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and Treasurer of the Spanish Honor Society. My family moved after I gradutaed from high school and we currently reside in Fayetteville, Ga. I am the first member of my family to graduate from an American high school and attend an 4-year university. During my first semester at Georgia Tech I was a Industrial Design major in the College of Architecture. I switched to Computational Media by the end of that term and I found that I was emotionally invested in the capabilities of computing and media as a medium to communicate to the masses. I was a member of the African American Student Union and National Society of Black Engineers where I did various acts of community service. I served on the executive board of FirstGen as the Director of Marketing and the Director of Telecommunications positions simultaneously as an upperclassman. I gained many more social and business connections working under GT Hospitality as a suite attendant at the football and basketball games. I will forever treasure the experiences and people I came across during my time at Georgia Tech. I am looking forward to the opportunities opening up for me as I take the next steps into my future.
