Dr. Wennifer Danielle Wiggins, DNP, MSN, BSN, RN, APRN, CRNP, FNP-BC

Dr. Wiggins is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 23 years of experience.  Currently, Dr. Wiggins is an independent primary care provider in a large multi-specialty practice while collaborating with 6 physicians and 4 other nurse practitioners.  Over the years, Dr. Wiggins experiences consist of performing comprehensive history and physical assessments, pre - op surgical or procedures assessments, episodic assessments, follow up auto accidents assessments, and follow up worker's compensation assessments.  In addition, Dr. Wiggins duties have consisted of completing comprehensive and follow up assessments on patients of various ages throughout the life span which include infants, preschool and school age children, teenagers, adults, elderly, women's health, OB/GYN patients, and adult congenital heart patients.

Doctor of Nursing Practice Scholarly Capstone Research Project:  Implementation and Effectiveness of an Evidence Based Lifestyle Intervention for Preventing Type 2 Diabetes in Obese African American Women with Prediabetes in Primary Care, Wilkes University, 2014.


Washington Adult Congenital Heart Program:  Assisted with recruitment of adult congenital heart patients for various research projects concerning adult congenital heart disease (2007- 2009).


Conducted, performed, and completed an independent Masters Scholarly Research Study Project:  Nurse Practitioners' Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Related to Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention in African American Women, Bowie State University.

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing:   Barton College ( formerly Atlantic Christian College) in Wilson, NC

I would like to thank faculty, teachers, professors, mentors, family, friends, co-workers, and patients which I have encountered throughout my life who have encouraged me to follow my dreams.

I would like to give special thanks to my husband (Harvey), sons (Brandon and Javonte), and sister (Sonia).  Significantly, I would like to thank Mom and Dad (Charlotte and Alton Sr.) for attending this glorious occasion.
