Abigail McLaughlin

Third-year engineering student looking to create a sustainable world through chemical engineering. I attended college one year early through The Clarkson School, an early college program at Clarkson University. Through this program I was able to get a head start on my undergraduate degree while simultaneously attaining my high school diploma. Immersing myself one year early at Clarkson University was challenging, but through hard work and perseverance I successfully completed the program and continued to study at Clarkson. My father inspired me to pursue a career in engineering. On a few occasions I had the pleasure of observing his collaboration with other professionals in differing departments, as well as other locations around the world. I knew that I wanted to obtain a position that utilizes teamwork and communication to problem solve and help others. My passion for the environment stems from my love for the outdoors. I am constantly learning more about how we can protect the planet we inhabit. By merging my interests in sustainability and chemistry, I chose to major in Chemical Engineering, and later declared my minors in Sustainable Energy Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
