My name is Addison Reynolds and I am currently a senior at Houston Academy in Dothan, AL. I enjoy being involved in my community through volunteer work such as Westside Terrace Nursing Home, Teenage volunteer at Southeast Health, local Humane society, Mama Tina's soup kitchen, local missions, and many others. I have many hobbies, one of which I would like to advance to the next level of cheer as a Trojan cheerleader as I plan to attend Troy University where I will earn a major that will support my desires of becoming a Physicians Assistant all while being heavily involved in campus organizations and greek life.

I was given the opportunity to learn about our country's history in Europe this past Spring. We traveled to Neuschwanstein, Paris, Germany, and Auschwitz in which each destination had a separate importance to our country's past. I was honored to be able to be a part of this incredible experience and even get a better understanding of where my grandfather fought on the beaches of Normandy.

I have been a part of National Junior Society from my ninth grade year to the end of my tenth grade year as I went on to be a part of the National Honor Society program at the beginning of eleventh grade till graduation of my senior year. This includes having a GPA over 3.75 at Houston Academy which I excelled the needed standards as i have a 4.23 GPA. With this academic excellence, I was awarded the opportunity to study abroad in Europe last year allowing me to learn so much about our country's history. I have been honored to earn a part of Student Government secretary because of my achievements and excellent note taking skills.

I received commendation from Martha Roby and Mayer Mike Schmitz for community involvement and volunteerism in my community and also received the volunteerism award for the past 3 years at Houston Academy. Each year I have also been recognized for my academic excellence in having all A's in National Honor Society and continued involvement in my school. Within the past year, my peers have given me the opportunity to be SGA secretary in which I speak up in behalf of the students which I would consider to be a great accomplishment in itself.

Miss Houston County

I have gained the title of Miss Houston County for 2019-2020 and couldn't be more honored to serve my community in this role. Earning this title consisted of an interview process, stage presence, written communication, and verbal skills. I have enjoyed every minute so far and have gotten the opportunity to attend functions around my community that I wouldn't have been able to without this title. As Miss Houston County, I was able to compete in Miss National Peanut Festival in which I was awarded with top 10 overall, top 5 in written communication, top 5 in peanut knowledge, and friendships that will last me a lifetime.

As a senior at Houston Academy, I have been given the opportunity to represent my peers to head leaders of my school. Student Government holds many volunteer work days in which we get in our community and serve others as well as hold meetings once a month to discuss future plans of our schools involvement. We have been successful within the past year in creating a Sadie's dance and a miracle league fundraiser in which we host a Christmas party one day of December for special citizens. I have enjoyed every part of this organization and hope to continue to make a difference in our school and community as a leader of SGA.

I have been a leader of First Priority at Houston Academy as well as First Priority for the past 3 years. With this I have led multiple bible studies on Thursday and Friday mornings and will continue to do throughout my senior year. Recently I have helped in creating a new school club called EPIC, empowering people in Christ, and we meet once a week to do a devotion before school. I am so honored to be a part of starting this organization at Houston Academy.

I have been a part of a cheer team since elementary school as I joined my first competitive cheer program at AEGA in Dothan, AL. I then went on to tryout for my middle school cheer team at Carver Magnet and earned a spot on the team as the co-captain and again as the captain in eighth grade. I moved to Houston Academy for high school and tried out for their cheer team in ninth grade. I have earned a spot each year as a Houston Academy cheerleader and joined a competitive cheer team at Crossfire cheer and gymnastics in Dothan, AL. this past year. Having skills of both competitive and school cheer will allow me a better opportunity to be successful in college cheer.

I have been a part of Hugh O' Brian Youth Leadership, Dothan Youth Leadership, and Wiregrass Youth Leadership over the past 2 years. With all three of these experiences and groups, I have learned how to properly be a leader in a large group setting and have learned many valuable lessons that will last me a lifetime. I have also met many friends through these groups that will allow me to have connections later in life and people to connect with in college.
