Serve the community through crime prevention, law enforcement, and public service. Responsibilities include patrolling assigned zones, responding to calls for service, enforcing traffic laws, and conducting preliminary and follow-up investigations. Officers engage in proactive community policing, participate in outreach programs, and work closely with citizens to solve problems and reduce crime. The role requires professionalism, integrity, the ability to de-escalate situations, and adherence to departmental policies and Georgia law. Smyrna Police Officers are also expected to maintain accurate documentation, testify in court, and uphold high standards of public safety.
Responsible for protecting life and property, enforcing state laws and city ordinances, and maintaining public safety throughout the community. Duties include conducting patrols, responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, performing traffic enforcement, and completing detailed incident reports. Officers investigate crimes, interview witnesses, collect and preserve evidence, and participate in community policing initiatives to build trust with local residents. Cleveland Police Officers are expected to demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment under pressure, and a commitment to ethical law enforcement practices.
