Assigned to a cabin of campers ranging from 6 to 17 years of age. Providing 24 / 7 care to any and all campers that need assistance. Scheduled to work at and oversee daily activity programs as well as special events and camp-wide evening activities. Additional responsibilities included maintaining equipment and directing the Quads and Paintball activities.
Responsible for constructing the set for two shows per semester. Given directions by a technical director and using power tools such as saws, drills, etc. Often times working as a team to build the set in a clean and orderly manner.
Working in theatres in the lighting department. Taking orders from the lighting designer to hang, move and focus lights that fit with the designers' and director's intentions for the specific show. Also took care of striking (removing) any lighting instruments, cables and other rigging related utilities after a production/event is over.
Shadowing different members of the technical department, ranging from lights, to automation, to props and costumes. At times, running through complete shows from both the light booth and back stage props under supervision.
Responsible for a section of tables in the restaurant. Making sure that customers come in and are seated swiftly and are met with good service. Taking orders and delivering meals when ready assuring a consistent great quality of food, beverages and mood.
Still under the role of a camper, but assigned to assist counselors in cabin and during activities. Leader in Training (L.I.T.) I involved being in a cabin with all other L.I.T.'s and campers one year younger and working every other day when a group of counselors were on days off, providing extra help to on duty counselors at activities. Leader in Training II involved being assigned to a cabin with other counselors in a younger age group cabin. Work for L.I.T. II was six days a week, with one day as a day off. Both groups provide assistance every night with camp-wide evening activities and events.
