Alexis Miller

I am a photographer for JMU Athletics Communications on their photo team. Since I have worked on the team for so long I am considered a senior photographer. Here, I take pictures at a number of sporting events weekly ranging from Softball, to Football to Lacrosse and everything in between. I had the opportunity to shoot the NCAA football championship in Frisco Texas as well as the CAA Swim Championship in Christiansburg Virginia. After photos are taken, they are edited through Photoshop and organized through photo mechanic. We then make them into galleries to be put on the JMU sports website. I also have office hours on a weekly basis where I go through and organize photos and equipment as well as work on studio photos and creative projects.

I started out with the Breeze in the fall of my freshman year working on their photography team, and fell in love with the publication. Since then, I have moved to become a Photo Editor on the Editorial team for the 2017-2018 school year. I attend four weekly meetings for the Breeze for budget, critique and to assign photos to my photo team. I also spend Wednesdays at the office preparing photos for the print edition as well as add photos to the website on a daily basis.
