Allison Plattsmier (ne Quintanilla) was born and raised in Nashville, TN where she attended Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School. After graduating with honors in 2012, she completed her undergraduate degree in only three years and graduated with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2015 with a B.S. in Political Science: Public Administration and Nonprofit Management and a minor in Entrepreneurship. She received her M.Ed. in Community Development and Action from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College in 2016. She also completed an elite Masters of Business Administration program in four months through Smartly and received her Certified Nonprofit Professional designation from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice at Trevecca. Allison has over nine years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Her work experience includes Special Events Intern for the American Diabetes Association, Program Administrative Assistant for Mental Health America of Middle Tennessee, Special Events Coordinator for the T.J. Martell Foundation, and Development Coordinator for the Center for Refugees and Immigrants of Tennessee (CRIT), Executive Director of Amputee Blade Runners (ABR), and Associate Director of Programs and Development for the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) Foundation. She is a member of CNM's Young Nonprofit Professionals, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Association of Certified Nonprofit Professionals (ACNP), the Association of Latino Professionals for America, Junior League of Nashville, Nashville Junior Chamber, Pi Sigma Alpha Political Honor Society, and Golden Key International Honor Society. She is a recent recipient of AFP's Outstanding Young Professional Award, the Congressional Award Gold Medal, the youngest recipient of both Nashville's Top 30 Under 30 and Nashville Business Journal's 40 Under 40, as well as Nashville Business Journal's Employee of the Year in the Community Impact category. She volunteers with the Heimerdinger Foundation, Doing Good, Hands on Nashville, and the American Red Cross of Nashville on an ongoing basis but volunteers with a variety of other organizations through their special events. She serves as Public Relations Chair on the Doing Good Board of Directors and on the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce's Moving Forward Public Engagement Task Force. She is a DoSomething.org Ambassador and serves as an advocate for gun violence prevention, ending the cycle of poverty, and social justice equality. Allison's areas of interest are public health, equal access to public resources for underprivileged and economically disadvantaged populations, and eradicating food insecurity. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, reading, singing, running, and hanging out with her phenomenal husband, Kris, and their three cats, Sheena, Jacinda, and Milo.

Executive Director at Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) Foundation
TISL is a 51-year-old 501(c)(3) with an estimable Board of Directors, stable finances and a great reputation among stakeholders and clients. Responsibilities: Elevate TISL's profile and events Work with the existing Development Director to find new revenue and improve TISL's statewide visibility, especially on college campuses and among TISL alumni. Financial management (work with existing outside accountants to process vendor payments, revenues, etc.). Event Planning (student events) Work with the Program Director and the student leaders to plan the four-day General Assembly each November, particularly with regards to venues and logistics. Opening Night reception (Tri-Star Social), a ballroom reception for students on the opening night of the General Assembly Belmont Law Luncheon, a luncheon during the General Assembly sponsored by Belmont College of Law Five regional workshops in October to help students prepare for the General Assembly. Campus-Capitol Connection, TISLs day-on-the-hill during the legislative session. Friends of TISL Luncheon, an existing event during the General Assembly for stakeholders and sponsors. Fundraiser For Our Future, a fundraiser in late winter aimed at Capitol Hill. This is successful in its current form and has huge upward potential. Vendor Selection & Management, which primarily consists of maintaining existing relationships. Corporate Governance Regulatory Compliance (state and federal) Board support, including all meeting preparations, logistics, informational materials, etc. Alumni Communications Attend all events, except that some Regional Workshops are optional. Attend four board meetings annually Pro-active communication with stakeholders.
