Works closely with attorneys involved in workers' compensation cases. Performs insurance coverage research, files claims with the Department of Industrial Accidents and covers Conciliation proceedings at regional offices. Maintain contact and correspondence with clients, insurer's attorneys and judges offices. Requests medical and employment records to prepare Conference documents and packages. Prepares Lump Sum Settlement packages for client signatures and judge's approval. Assist third-party contractor with resolving Medicare, Medicaid and Part C plan liens by obtaining MSAs where applicable, make demand requests and payments, and compile and track appeals for Medicare problem cases.
