Emergency Operations Specialist at USACE
I have served as an Emergency Operations Specialist for the UROC which is now part of the ERDC Office of Research and Technology (ORTT). As an Emergency Operations Specialist, I provide engineering reachback capability to the USACE, the Engineer Regiment, Combatant Commands, Department of Defense, and other entities. I help provide an engineering telepresence to support engineers in the execution of missions across the full operational spectrum, including disaster relief, humanitarian missions, and exercises. Specifically, I help leverage subject matter experts (SMEs) from across USACE, the Army, DoD, private industry, and academia to provide rapid, reliable, and relevant solutions to engineering challenges. I receive, coordinate, and respond to all engineering reachback Requests for Information (RFIs) and develop and maintain a reachback engineer database. I train engineer units, first responders, and other organizations on specialized reachback equipment and processes to facilitate the execution of engineering reachback. I am directly responsible for enabling innovative solutions to be quickly transferred directly to the warfighter to support infrastructure, environmental, water resources, and disaster operations. These solutions have a real-time impact on the success of missions, soldier survival, and the well being of the civilian population.
