Amanda Kassab

I have two fundamental goals in my academic and professional life: (1) Always continue learning. (2) Always help others, within my scope of practice. I will be part of the first graduating class (Spring 2019) of the newly offered, BSN program at The Citadel/Citadel Graduate College; with hope to demonstrate an exemplary foundation in Nursing leadership and skills as well as to continue to further my academic endeavors in order to specialize and become a DNP. I have over three years of clinical experience previously working full time at a state-of-the-art, private Integrative Dermatology Practice, as a cross-trained, lead Medical Assistant (MA) and Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT). I also have 3 years of prior work experience as a Research Specialist I and Student Laboratory Technician at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). I was responsible for running various experiments and recording data on behavioral paradigms of addiction. I performed cohort management, breeding colony maintenance, numerous aseptic stereotaxic and IV catheter surgeries on rats, microinfusions, brain tissue dissection and coronal cryosectioning, slide mounting and staining for histologic evaluation and assessment of cannula placement, as well as analyzing and formatting data and results for posters, presentations, and manuscript writing.
