Connected Conservation Snow Leopard Day Celebration Activities
For our Connected Conservation Campaign, my group members, Beth, Nika, Dylan, and I created a bank of resources for educators to utilize on Snow Leopard Celebration Day, October 23rd. We created this resource in response to the specified needs of our partner, IRBIS Mongolia. They indicated that they would appreciate a campaign that brought awareness to snow leopards and snow leopard celebration day in particular. We reached out to creators of snow leopard content and then hosted this content, along with some activities of our own design, on another conservation campaign group's website that they created for IRBIS Mongolia as a part of their campaign. The resources are organized by the time it takes to teach it, the grade level it is best suited for, the prep time each activity takes, and whether or not the activity is cross-curricular or can be integrated into a project-based learning unit. Additionally, we included a snow leopard day celebration kit with props and activities to make it a real celebration. We are proud of the result and looking forward to seeing how teachers across the country use these activities to celebrate snow leopard day with their students!
