In the fall of 2024, I had the opportunity to study abroad through St. Lawrence's London Semester Programme. There, I took classes with British professors and embarked on weekly tours, highlighting the city's diversity and intersecting global spheres. Additionally, I volunteered at the non-profit organization, The Felix Project, as part of a four-week internship.

Alexis Ward was recognized for studying abroad
In the early summer of 2024, I was selected to take part in a short-term travel component to Venice, Italy as part of Dr. Juraj Kittler's "Public Sphere of Renaissance Venice," an interdisciplinary upper-level course offered every four years. Over ten days, I participated in daily excursions and workshops, giving in-situ presentations throughout the city each day pertaining to topics learned in class.

As of the spring of 2025, I have been a member of the Irving Bacheller Society, an honorary organization comprised of students who demonstrate proficiency and enthusiasm in the English field. The Felix Project
As part of the London Semester Programme's four-week long internship component, I worked as a volunteer for the Felix Project, a non-profit organization that delivers surplus food from supermarkets and restaurants to food banks, charities, and primary schools throughout the city. I was stationed in the warehouse at the Enfield branch in North London, where I took daily inventory, assisted less-abled volunteers with heavy lifting, and packed food orders onto carts to be delivered to those in need.

The Laurentian Magazine
As of the Fall '23 semester, I have been a general editor for the fiction and visual arts sections of the Laurentian Magazine, a student-run literary magazine showcasing students' works of fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, photography, and art. In the Spring '25 semester, I was promoted to the editorial board as senior fiction editor; in this position, I held meetings with my fellow fiction editors, analyzed and discussed students' fiction submissions, and notified students of their publication status.

During the Spring '23 semester, I volunteered at littleGrasse Foodworks, a "diversified small-scale farm that produces and distributes vegetables and herbs for people living or working in the Canton-area" (littleGrasse website). Over the semester, my peer group and I completed such tasks as food preservation, weeding and gardening, planting vegetable seeds, and tapping maple trees while learning about the importance of agriculture in the community.

Laurentian Singers
Since the fall of 2022, I have been a dedicated member of the Laurentian Singers, St. Lawrence's select chamber choir of undergraduate student singers.
