Amanda DeLauter

While I have been a wife for over 10 years, I have been a stay-at-home mom after spending 3 months at home with our son Benjamin after he was born. Benjamin is blessed with an extra chromosome, what the world calls Trisomy-21 (aka Down Syndrome). He is a happy, loving, smart, strong, amazing young boy who blesses our family every day. As a stay-at-home mom, I "work" for Benjamin, making sure he gets his therapies, doing therapy with him at home, taking him to medical appointments as needed, and advocating for him, particularly in the school systems (he is in pre-school.) And now I am a student at University of Alabama to obtain the Criminal Justice degree I was pursuing in my 20's. In addition to receiving my degree from the best college in the country, I am also teaching Benjamin that we finish what we start no longer how long it takes, and that we all learn at our own pace.
